Helen Hecker asked:

When you’re addicted physically to any drug, like pain killers or alcohol, etc., it’s because you’ve suppressed or shut down your body’s production of endorphins, which are natural opiate pain killers; when this happens you start craving the drug that you replaced the endorphins with whether it’s alcohol, any of a number of other drugs or pain killers. Many other drugs can interact with opioids and cause a variety of symptoms; this can be fatal. Addiction to pain killers is a rapidly escalating problem today, especially the abuse of opioid pain killers.

Less commonly known side effects and adverse reactions of pain killers are: confusion, hallucinations, delirium, hives, itching, hypothermia, bradycardia (slow heart rate), tachycardia (rapid heart rate), raised intracranial pressure, ureteric or biliary spasm, muscle rigidity and flushing to name a few. Patients can innocently start taking pain killers, for example, after a moderate injury or because of a severe injury in an automobile accident, fall or for post surgical pain. And more than ten percent of high school seniors have started taking Vicodin for reasons other than reducing pain to complicate matters.

Opioids should never be taken when drinking alcohol (some people still don’t realize it’s also a drug) or when alcohol may still be present in the system. There are a number of effective treatment options to treat pain killer addiction to prescription opioids and to help manage the severe withdrawal symptoms that can sometimes accompany sudden stopping of pain killers or other drugs. Treatment options for pain killer addiction include: medications, like methadone and LAAM (levo-alpha-acetyl-methadol), and behavioral counseling; usually, the patient is medically detoxified before any treatment approach or counseling is begun.

Often people addicted to pain killers are plagued with different symptoms to different degrees; many times they don’t associate the symptoms they’re having with the drug. Opioids, used as the doctor has prescribed, are supposedly not dangerous according to some well-established medical groups; but if that’s the case, why are so many people addicted to them? There is a difference: An opioid-dependent pain patient has improved function with the use of the drug while an opioid-addicted patient does not have improvement.

There are many side effects and adverse reactions that can occur with the use of opioids used as pain killers. More than 415,000 people received treatment for pain killer abuse or addiction last year. Chronic pain affects one out of three or so adults and millions of people suffer from severe disabling pain.

Many insurance plans cover inpatient detoxification, check your plan if you have insurance. It’s important to go through rehab following your detox stay; make it a big part of your plan of action. Taking the time to spend in a treatment center, detoxing, is of the utmost priority. Get started now.

If you don’t have insurance, check with your local mental health agencies to see what is available that’s free. There are many free programs to help people with pain killer addictions. Find out from your local health professionals and agencies where the closest and best pain killer addiction treatment centers are. It’s important to get help and not to try getting off pain killers on your own.

Again if you think you have an addiction to pain killers think about getting detoxed as soon as possible; you can do it, thousands have done it before you and live wonderful lives. The effort by doctors and other health professionals to reduce pain medication abuse is causing serious problems for patients who legitimately need the drugs. What should people, and patients with chronic pain problems or conditions, do to avoid the possibility of addiction is an ongoing burning question, if there is no other recourse for their pain.

muscle relaxants, soma without prescription

Helen Hecker asked:

More than 415,000 people received treatment for pain killer abuse or addiction this past year. Patients can innocently start taking pain killers after a moderate injury or because of a severe injury in an automobile accident, fall or for post surgical pain. A person exhibits compulsive behavior to satisfy their craving for a pain killer or pain medication even when there are negative consequences associated with taking the pain killer or drug.

Opioids used as the doctor has prescribed are supposedly not dangerous according to some well-established medical groups; but if this is the case, why are so many people addicted to them? More than 10% of high school seniors have started taking Vicodin for reasons other than reducing pain. There are a number of effective treatment options to treat pain killer addiction to prescription opioids and to help manage the sometimes severe withdrawal symptoms that can accompany sudden stopping of pain killers or drugs.

Once a patient addicted to pain killing drugs has completed detoxification, the treatment provider must then work with the patient to determine which course of treatment would be best for the patient. Pain killer addiction includes: opiate dependency, opiate addiction, narcotic dependency, narcotic addiction, and pain killer dependency or painkiller dependency. When you’re addicted physically to a drug, like pain killers or alcohol, etc., it’s because you’ve suppressed or shut down your body’s production of endorphins, which are natural opiate pain killers; when this happens you start craving the drug that you replaced the endorphins with whether it’s alcohol, any of a number of drugs or pain killers.

Common side effects and adverse reactions of pain killers are: nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, dry mouth, miosis (contraction of the pupil), and orthostatic hypotension (blood pressure drops upon sudden standing) — often happens when arising too fast when getting out of bed in the morning, urinary retention, constipation and fecal impaction. If you think you are addicted and want to get off pain killers or other drugs, it’s best to get detoxified as fast as you can and then go through some type of rehabilitation; it’s important to have others to lean on and learn from and offer support to you. Less common side effects and adverse reactions of pain killers are: confusion, hallucinations, delirium, hives, itching, hypothermia, bradycardia (slow heart rate), tachycardia (rapid heart rate), raised intracranial pressure, ureteric or biliary spasm, muscle rigidity and flushing.

An opioid-dependent pain patient has improved function with the use of the drug while an opioid-addicted patient does not have improvement. Although detoxification is not a treatment for pain killer addiction, it can help relieve withdrawal symptoms while the patient adjusts to being free of pain killers or other prescription drugs. Addiction to pain killers is an escalating problem today, especially the abuse of opioid pain killers.

You must make a change in your lifestyle in order to prevent you from taking pain killers and or other drugs again. Taking the time to spend in a treatment center, detoxing, is of the utmost priority. The longer you wait to get treatment the worse it’ll get; take action now.

There are many pain killer addiction treatment facilities located throughout the United States, Canada and the rest of the world. Find out from your local health professionals where the closest and best pain killer addiction treatment centers are. You must leave the routine responsibilities of your life for a week or two or suffer the inevitable outcome and bad health effects of prolonged drug addiction.

The effort to reduce pain medication abuse is causing serious problems for patients who legitimately need the drugs. The many problems that are associated with pain killer addiction and abuse have experts, doctors and authorities searching for solutions. It’s important to remember that when people first start taking pain killers for an acute or chronic pain condition, they don’t intend to become addicted.

The cheapest carisoprodol online

Jimmy Brownen asked:

Adderall, Ritalin, Dexedrine, Concerta are the names of drugs used to treat ADD. These drugs are more often than not end up being misuse for some reasons. It was even shown in one episode of the Desperate Housewives where Lynette, the character that had hyper boys end up taking their medications so that she can keep up with them. This is a common scenario of ADD medication abuse.

Consider this story.

Mike is a successful attorney with a very hectic schedule. More and more demands are being made on him, and if he wants to make partner at his firm in record time, he has got to find more hours – and more energy.

He was having drinks with a pal and telling his friend how he is not sure if he can keep up with his hectic schedule let alone working towards making partner. His friend told him that he too was in Mike’s condition a not so long ago but ever since he started taking Adderall few months back, life has taken a positive turn. It was easy to get his physician to prescribe him the medication as all he needed to do was confess that he can’t pay attention as well as stay organized at work. All this was worth it even if he did felt a little jittery.

Mike took his pal’s advice and was easily able to score his very own prescription for Ritalin. For the first few weeks, Mike thought he felt better. He didn’t seem to tire as easily and he was winning his cases like crazy! Moreover, he had lost those extra 8 pounds he’d never been able to shed. Mike thought he’d found the perfect solution.

Three month down the road, Mike began experiencing problems. He was loosing sleep and had often slept for no more than three hours at night. His moods became unpredictable and he was also becoming bad tempered. He had often taken this out on his wife and kids for no apparent reason and refuses to listen to his wife when she tries to point this out to him.

At work, things don’t seem to be same anymore. Mike’s coworkers are puzzled at his change of temperament. He was now treating other attorneys, which whom he had close working relationship with, like they are his nemesis. He is convinced that they only want to bring him down and sabotage his cases.

Mike finally went to a physician and it needless to say the cause was unveiled. He was immediately taken off the medication which was causing these symptoms and a few weeks later things went back to normal for Mike.

ADD medications are dangerous for those who suffer from ADD as well as those who don’t. They have the same effect as cocaine. Like cocaine, they increase the amount of dopamine available to receptors which then translates into a calming effect on the body.

Second, even though the goal of using these stimulants illegally is to get that calming effect just like they observe in those who have ADD, they get the opposite effect.

Non-medical users of these stimulants are college students and housewives. This is very much tied to their strong need to be more energized, get more attention as well as get high. The methods of taking them are like normal drugs or, for better effects of the drug, crushed and snorted.

It is essential that long term effects of these stimulants be made known to all as the number of users of these stimulants are gradually increasing.

Abusing stimulants for even short amounts of time alter the brain and its chemistry. These same drugs that are thought to produce that calming effect (remember the dopamine?) actually begin to destroy the receptors for dopamine, which in turn makes dopamine less effective for calming! Other side effects of using these drugs can include:

- Significant losses of grey matter in the brain – what does that mean? This is stuff in your brain that surrounds the corpus callosum, which is responsible for the communication between the two hemispheres of your brain.

- Deficits in the hippocampus – responsible for such basic functions such as feeding, drinking, activity level, etc.

- Develop abnormal brain structure akin to deficits in early dementia and schizophrenia seen on MRIs.

If that’s not enough to scare you, there are even more side-effects that shouldn’t be ignored.

- Paranoia

- Insomnia

- Extreme feelings of hostility

- Anorexia

- Depression

- Short temper

- Poor attention span

- A feeling of “being on the edge”

- Psychosis

- Memory loss

- Hallucinations

- Severe mood problems

Once you are dependent on these drugs, there is no turning back. You will find yourself taking more and more dose of them to get the same effect. This just proves that it is not worth it to get involve in the first place.

Taking Fioricet

Rob D. Hawkins asked:

So you have been able to get through high school despite your ADHD symptoms and now it is on to college where life centers around being able to maintain concentration, stay focused, retain knowledge, take concise and legible notes, manage time effectively, and stay organized. This list for academic success can prove quite daunting for most college students with ADHD due to the neurological imbalances occurring in their brains. It is also important to point out that while motivation may be an issue with some, generally speaking, college students with ADHD try as hard or harder than their peers.

Most college student with ADHD are excited about the prospects of entering into a new world of higher education on their way to a success and a noteworthy fulfilling life. Nevertheless, it can be easy to overestimate one’s ability to achieve certain goals, especially when the class load is too ambitious or a college professor isn’t sympathetic to an ADHD students needs. To add to the challenges our favorite ADHD college student may fail to recognize that they will be away from the protective blanket of support provided by parents, families and peers thus becoming overwhelmed by the day to day decisions they will be forced to make on their own.

College Students with ADHD – Getting the most out of college

With each ADHD college student facing a different set of challenges it is difficult to know where to start in providing a pathway for college success, but one thing is for sure without a well thought out plan their chances for success will become less favorable.

When creating a pathway to college success every ADHD college student should include a predetermined idea, or two, as to how they plan to cope with their weaknesses. For instance if they have a problem with starting and/or completing homework assignments make sure they set aside an allotted amount of time every evening just for completing homework assignments. Without setting aside a predetermined amount of time each evening they will tend to place college assignments on the backburner in favor of doing things that they find more interesting. If after settling into a college routine you find that you are still having difficulty setting parameters for yourself don’t hesitate to contact a counselor, a learning service, or other type of academic support offered by the University.

If despite all your preplanning you are still not been able manage your college academics successfully consider hiring an ADHD coach who can help you organize your time and establish good study habits. Another idea is to find others who are facing, or have faced, the same challenges with inattention, impulsivity, and restlessness you are currently facing. A good place to start might be by seeking out an ADHD peer group or peer study group. By joining one of these groups not only will you be able to get valuable input as to better manage your college experience but may also make some new friends and allies in your battle against college ADHD.

What else? Sometimes a college student with ADHD may feel they need a little extra help to face the challenges that a college environment presents. In these instances a natural ADHD remedy just might be the missing piece of the puzzle.

In the end, you should know that many students with attention deficit disorder have not only successfully completed college but have also gone on to achieve great things. Will you be the next?

Taking Tramadol

Brenda Williams asked:

There used to be a time when you could open up your medicine cabinet and not worry about anything. Nowadays, however, parents are more concerned than ever about what they will or won’t find when they open up their medicine cabinets. Many young children are becoming hooked or addicted to prescription medication than ever before. Additionally, it isn’t limited to youth; rather, prescription medication addiction seems to span all generations. Just look at the death of actor, Heath Ledger who lost his life due to prescription medication abuse. Who do we blame for this? The media certainly is a place to start pointing the finger.

Every time you turn on the television and there is a commercial on, nine times out of ten the commercial is for some sort of prescription medication. Do you have X, Y and Z symptoms? If so, you may need a certain prescription medication to help you out with what may or may not be ailing you. Look around at all of the children who have been diagnosed with ADD, who are on Ritalin. And let’s not forget about all of the depressed Americans who can’t seem to function on a day-to-day basis without a little help from Prozac and Xanax…and the doctors keep prescribing…and people keep abusing these prescribed drugs. Quite frankly, it’s a little frightening.

I can very clearly remember my first encounter with medication abuse. One of my (then) friends in high school was talking to some of my other friends about how if you took a certain over-the-counter medication used for the common cold- how it would make you feel like you were high. She then went on to joke about how if you wanted an even higher feeling of euphoria, you could down the pills with a couple of swigs of hard liquor. While this may have seemed harmless to her back then, it is actually a serious problem among many today- but how much (if any) is the media playing into this new addiction? Could it be that there are people who don’t really have anything wrong with them but then think twice about it once they see one of those prescription medication commercials? Even I have been caught a few times thinking twice about my health because of the numerous health commercials on television. It’s enough to drive a person crazy!

One way to avoid problems with prescription medication abuse is to talk openly about the dangers and the side effects. There is a lot of speculation floating around that doctors and insurance companies are simply trying to make money off of unsuspecting people who, in reality, don’t really have anything wrong with them. In some cases, this may be true, but it is still hearsay at this point. Parents need to sit down with their kids and talk about the dangers that lie in prescription medication. Similarly, doctors need to advise their patients that medication may not always solve a problem such as depression or anxiety- but rather, sometimes a change in mindset will suffice.

Buy Butalbital apap caffeine

Salvator Giustra asked:

Ever wondered how many ADHD prescription drugs are out there? As well as the most common drugs like Ritalin and Adderall, you may be pleasantly surprised to learn that there are many other prescription medications for ADHD that can be effective in treating the signs of ADHD.

The main medication types employed in ADHD management are 1)long lasting stimulants, 2)short/intermediate lived stimulants, and 3)non-stimulants. But each one comes with likely side effects, some of which can be very serious.

ADHD conventional drugs of the long lasting stimulant variety include Vyvanse, Adderal XR, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin XR, Metadate CD, and Ritalin LA. The effects of these long-acting stimulants endure for 8-12 hours and as such they only need to be used once daily.

They are useful for children who don’t want to take a dosage at school. Adderall XR and Ritalin LA capsules can be opened and pinched onto food if your kid cannot physically take them. Daytrana comes in the form of a patch that children can wear for a few hours.

Short/intermediate lasting prescription drug medications for adhd include Ritalin, Dexedrine, Adderall, Dextrostat, and Methylin ER, to name a few. Short/intermediate acting stimulants are ADHD therapy options that have become less popular than the long lived variety.

These medicines must be ingested more than once a day because their effects are short-lived. The benefits of short lived Ritalin, Dexedrine and Adderall is that they are available in generic form and are thus less expensive.

The most used option among non-stimulant ADHD orthodox drugs for ADHD is Strattera. Strattera and the other non-stimulants are not used as much as stimulant drugs.

Children who also suffer from jitteriness, in addition to ADHD, may benefit from Strattera. Some children take Strattera because they can’t bear stimulants due to their side effects or because stimulants plainly don’t work for them.

In general, side effects associated with orthodox medications for ADHD are the most typical rationale why more people are turning to alternate therapy options these days.

The side effects of taking stimulants can include headaches, stomachaches, insomnia, eating disorders, social withdrawal, nausea, and vomiting, to name a few.

Many parents note that their children act dull, much too restricted, and zombie-like due to taking stimulants for ADHD.

Non-stimulant orthodox medications for ADHD such as Strattera are not without their side effects either. Strattera can cause upset stomach, decreased appetite, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, tiredness, psychological swings, and even allergic reactions.

If you want to decrease the symptoms of ADHD in your charges without subjecting them to the concerns and perilous side effects that result from taking orthodox drugs, you may want to look for a natural, alternative remedy.

The most alarming recent tests in regards to the effects of ADHD conventional drugs is the greater potentiality of depression in adulthood, as well as the greater likelihood of substance abuse problems and prescription drug dependency in adulthood.

The immediate side effects of employing these dangerous prescription drugs are disturbing as it is but when you consider the harmful effects in the long run, the idea of giving your kid prescription drugs may seem like too great of a risk. Thankfully there are high quality home herbal remedies that can be quite effective and do not cause any side effects at all.

So, if you want to alleviate the symptoms linked with ADHD so your child can live a fulfilling, successful life, start learning more about other ADHD remedies such as homeopathy.

The harmful short-run and somewhat permanent side effects of orthodox medications for adhd are cause enough to seek out optional therapy options for your child.

Rather than put your child’s health at risk, research alternative treatment methods like homeopathy so you can treat ADHD safely, gently, and effectively.

There are other alternatives to typical prescription medications for ADHD.

Butalbital apap caffeine

Jimmy Brownen asked:

A study done in 2007 shows that misuse and abuse of medication prescribed by ADHD is fast becoming a nationwide problem. This study had participations of nearly 11000 4th year students from colleges all over the US. These students we promised that their identity will be concealed to ensure honest and open answer.

Results included the following:

- The percentage of students that have used the stimulants during their life time is about 6.9%. 4.1% reported that they have used such stimulants in the past year and 2.1% in the past month

- It was also found that there are twice as much as male than female students who abuse these stimulants. Compared to African American, Caucasians uses them at a significantly higher level.

- Sorority and fraternity members used at a rate of more than double than nonmembers.

- Use was higher among students with a GPA of B or below.

- A collage with a more competitive admission criteria have higher number of students that abuses stimulants compared to colleges with lower admission criteria.

Also of interest is the fact that non-medical use of stimulants is often associated with other substance use. Consider the following percentages of those who used stimulants versus those who didn’t:

- Use of cigarettes: 67% vs. 24%

- Frequent binge drinking: 69% vs. 21%

- Use of ecstasy: 19% vs. 1%

- Use of cocaine: 17% vs. 1%

- Driving after binge drinking: 35% vs. 9%

- Being the passenger of a drunk driver: 66% vs. 21%

What are the reasons for using stimulants? The most common motive is to enhance academic performance especially when studying outside of class. This does not mean that using stimulants is never used for recreational purposes, but the findings are not that significant.

There is also reason to believe that students who uses these stimulants have undiagnosed ADD but then again, what are the reasons for students who do not have ADD yet still feel the need to stimulate concentration? Many who claims they have no problem with paying attention confesses that they find later that it is becoming increasingly hard for them to pay attention.

What actually is this findings trying to convey to parents who are concerned about the possibility of their children being involved with abuse of stimulant?

Parents should be on the look out for the following symptoms in their children :

1. Is your child under a lot of academic pressure, either to get in, or to excel, at his particular university? You may notice that he seems obsessed with getting into a school, or once in, worries constantly about keeping up and doing well.

2. How are his grades? If he seems horribly stressed and yet his grades are not reflective of his efforts, check with him.

3. Has your daughter lost a good bit of weight? Is she irritable and does she complain of having no appetite? Is this normal for her?

4. Is there other substance abuse that you are aware of?

5. Is your child complaining of problems with attention?

6. Does your child seem depressed?

Whatever the answers you may find from as a result of these questions, you should not neglect them. Whether they prove that your child is engaging in abuse of stimulants or not, as parents you will find it valuable enough as they make you understand what your children is experiencing.

The most important findings of this study shows that college students should be educated more about stimulants abuse. We should be looking out for accurate information on ADD as well as methods of treatment. We should also learn about other factors that can contribute to attention difficulties and why it is important to seek professional help rather than prescribing one’s own medicine. It is then also important for us to be aware of other methods be it medical or non medical that can assist people with ADD.

Buy Fioricet, Tramadol, Carisoprodol

deepak kulkarni asked:

If you are looking for information about high blood pressure medication, you will find the below related article very helpful. It provides a refreshing perspective that is much related to high blood pressure medication and in some manner related to lifesource blood pressure monitors, audio device not found, blood pressure measurement device or best blood pressure monitors. It isn’t the same old kind of information that you will find elsewhere on the Internet relating to high blood pressure medication.

Raising your premature baby’s blood pressure can be as simple as giving your baby extra fluid by IV, but sometimes it takes a bit more. Medications called pressors can increase your premature baby’s blood pressure. If the cause for low blood pressure is blood loss, then a blood transfusion will be performed with donor blood from a blood bank.

The normal blood pressure of a healthy young adult is about 110/75 (below 120 mm Hg systolic and 80 mm Hg diastolic). As one gets older, the normal blood pressure usually gets higher- a 60-year old usually has a blood pressure of 130/90.

Coronary heart disease, leading to heart attack and stroke, is the main harm that can be caused by High Blood Pressure. Hence, we can realize the fact that High Blood Pressure can easily play with the lives of man.

Unlike many people out there, don’t forget that even if this article related to high blood pressure medication doesn’t cover all the basics you wanted, you can always take a look at any of the search engines like Google dot com or Search.Yahoo dot com for more high blood pressure medication related information.

Low blood pressure, the medical term hypotension is generally defined as that which is below normal and relative to the individual with things taken into account such as age and activity levels.

Who uses a blood pressure cuff on you? Usually it is a doctor or a nurse that takes your blood pressure and uses the cuff. However, your blood pressure can also be taken electronically by a machine. The nurse would strap the cuff around your arm and the machine would proceed to take your blood pressure.

Different blood pressure monitors provide different readings. The most common blood pressure monitor uses a column of mercury to gauge the blood pressure with a hand pump attached to the arm of the patient. When you pump this, the blood pressure monitor tightens on your arm. Readings taken by this device are usually accurate. However, a disadvantage with this type of mercury-based blood pressure monitor is that accidental spilling of mercury can cause various allergic reactions and illness.

Many people searching for high blood pressure medication also searched online for blood pressure monitors comparison, hypotension, and even omron blood pressure monitor cuff.

Tramadol ultracet

Alesia Watson asked:

Obesity is nothing but an excess proportion of total body fat. When the total body weight of a person is 20% or more above normal weight; he or she is considered to be obese. This problem of obesity is not leaving anyone untouched in US and Europe. People are constantly coming under the clutches of this fatal problem.

Abbott Laboratories have come up with Reductil slimming pills to tackle this deadly disease. Reductil contains sibutramine, which works on the part of brain that senses fullness of stomach. It is anti-obesity and weight loss drug that helps over-weight and obese people shed those additional pounds of fat.

Reductil contains the active ingredient sibutramine hydrochloride monohydrate which works by affecting neurotransmitters in the brain.

Extensively studies have been done on Reductil Sibutramine throughout the globe to know how it works and what are its effects on body; whether it does what it claims or not? And all the studies proved that it works. In the studies, Reductil Sibutramine was used in combination with diet and exercise and it was proved effective in producing and maintaining significant weight loss in the majority of obese patients compared to diet and exercise alone.

Reductil is advisable for people with BMI of 30 or higher or those with a BMI of 27 or higher with other obesity related risk factor such as type II diabetes or high cholesterol. You should not buy Reductil without consulting your physician and to get you BMI checked is a pre-requisite for it.

Now the question comes how and from where to buy this? The answer is very simple; Visit your own doctor in the first instance so that he may carry out a physical check up. And if your doctor recommends the use of Reductil then you can go for it. Avoid buying it from online sources but you can go to myreductil.com, which is a reliable source to buy Reductil as you have access to qualified doctors in case you need any advice or help throughout your course of treatment. It comes in two strengths: Reductil 10mg and Reductil 15mg.

You should not use Reductil Sibutramine if you are suffering from any of the disease:

• Closed angle glaucoma

• History of blocked arteries in the extremities (peripheral arterial occlusive disease)

• History of coronary artery disease

• History of drug, alcohol or medication abuse

• History of heart failure

• History of increased heart rate (tachycardia)

• History of irregular heart beats (arrhythmias)

• History of small temporary strokes (transient ischaemic attacks)

• History of stroke

• Hyperthyroidism

• Obesity caused by a medical condition

• Psychiatric disorders

• Tumour of the adrenal gland (phaeochromocytoma)

Buy Butalbital apap caffeine

Tarun Gupta asked:

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a contentious disorder that is believed to be a developmental disorder that is largely neurological in nature. It is known to affect around 5 percent to 7 percent of all children in the United States, sixty percent of which are known to retain it in the adulthood. There are several clinically proven effective options available to treat people diagnosed with ADHD and Ritalin is one such medication which is asserted to treat ADHD most effectively, and cost efficiently.

In recent years, Ritalin has become one of the frequently abused prescription drugs. The United States Drug Enforcement Administration classifies Ritalin as a schedule II drug i.e. a substance with a large potential for misuse as it is a CNS stimulant that produces pharmacological effects similar to those of cocaine and amphetamines. As a result, a growing number of incidents of ADHD prescription drug abuse, associated with all age groups, are being reported nowadays. According to a survey of Texas university students in 1997, almost 1.5 percent of students had misused Ritalin during the past year and 2 percent had done so at some point in their lives. A 1998 survey of students at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, presented yet another peep into this disturbing trend when it concluded that 20 percent of the students had illegally taken Ritalin or a similar drug at least once in their lives.

Ritalin is also occasionally used in adults to treat narcolepsy, a sleep disorder characterized by sudden and uncontrollable episodes of deep sleep. So it is quite famous for its stimulant effects & that are exactly what college students need!

As a result, an increasing proportion of college students are taking up Ritalin to wake up till wee hours to prepare for exams as it has been suggested to help students maintain abnormally high levels of concentration. It is believed to be even more effective than mega-doses of caffeine for keeping them awake and on task. Apparently, it is popular by various street names viz. vitamin R & cramming drug! It is sadly ironic that many young people who start using Ritalin this way are actually good kids and excellent students. Because so many of them are juggling more than they can really handle, some of them succumb to temptation of getting something to help them study for a final or finish a major project. But then a few weeks later, more exams, term papers, and projects loom overwhelmingly on the horizon. So they resort once more to their “study aid” that helped them ace their work the last time & this is how it starts…

ADHD Prescription medicine drugs are abused for their stimulant effects like appetite suppression, wakefulness, increased focus/attentiveness, and euphoria. Ritalin is so cheap and so easy to get hold of that a highly profitable illegal resale market has sprung up around it. Some kids in middle school, high school, and college have taken to buying the pills at an inflated, but still quite manageable, price.

Excessive doses of Ritalin over a long period of time can produce addiction. It is also possible to develop tolerance to the drug, so that larger doses are needed to produce the original effect. Addiction to Ritalin seems to occur when it induces rapid increases of dopamine in the brain. So instead of excessive use of drugs, behavioral therapy, emotional counseling, and practical support must be given to ADHD children so that they can cope with everyday problems and feel better about themselves instead of getting dependent on drugs!

Tramadol ultracet
