Fioricet with Codeine is a barbiturate, analgesic, stimulant, and narcotic combination. Acetaminophen and codeine work in the brain to relieve pain. Caffeine constricts blood vessels in the brain, which may help to relieve headache pain. Butalbital reduces anxiety and helps you to relax. Mental and physical dependence can occur with the use of barbiturates such as butalbital when these pills are taken in higher than recommended doses over long periods of time. If you are sensitive to or have ever had an allergic reaction to barbiturates, acetaminophen, or caffeine, you should not take Fioricet. Make sure that your doctor is aware of any med reactions that you have experienced.

Fioricet may cause you to become drowsy or less alert; therefore, driving or operating dangerous machinery or participating in any hazardous activity that requires full mental alertness is not recommended until you know your response to Fioricet. If you are being treated for severe depression or have a history of severe depression or drug abuse, consult with your doctor before taking Fioricet. Tramadol is one pain relief medication that is commonly prescribed to people who suffer moderate to severe pain. First off, I’d like to say that I’m not a member of the medical community. You will not find this article full of medical lingo. I am however, a woman who has suffered from migraines for over 30 years.

Migraines, AAARGH! Everyone who has, or currently having migraines, just upon hearing the word, knows how debilitating they can be. The sensitivity to light, sound, smell, and the vomiting. They can also last for hours. Some people have migraines occasionally, while others, such as myself, have them constantly.

Migraines, according to the medical community, is caused by the sudden constricting and releasing of blood vessels. However, this is not always the case.

The psychological effects that accompany recovery from a disease or injury heighten chronic pain. A loss of confidence is often triggered by prolonged periods of rest and inactivity that cause a loss of physical strength, endurance and flexibility. If the injury has prevented you from performing your usual duties, you may succumb to frustration and depression. Impatience is chronic pain’s best friend as many individuals overexert themselves before they have completely healed, thus triggering more pain.

Fioricet and Esgic are brand name drugs made from a combination of butalbital (a barbiturate, 50 mg), acetaminophen (325 mg), and caffeine (40 mg). They are indicated for the treatment of tension headaches and muscle contraction headaches. Although not indicated, they are commonly used to treat migraines and other pain related ailments. Note that Fioricet (and some other pain medications) are implicated as causing repeat headaches with over-use. Read more about Fioricet and other pain relief medications at rx drugs source.

Parkinson’s Disease: is Caffeine the Cure?

Once a medical study was published on the application of caffeine for treating Parkinson’s disease, it stirred up a lot of controversy. Yet, I look at caffeine as a two edged sword, a risky thing to use regardless of any contribution it might make. In my book “The Truth about Caffeine” I explain that extravagant caffeine intake depletes the dopamine neurons. An individual will continue to want bigger quantities of caffeine, no matter what amount he started consuming. Just like other substances, our body adapts itself to caffeine, negating its potency so that only heightened amounts still provide an effect. Yet, huge amounts of caffeine invites destruction and possible fatalities.

Motivation, alertness and even emotional peaks stem from dopamine being released by the highly desired caffeine, as it energizes the brain. Caffeine is one of the most sought after brain stimulates, that many people take to release a sudden burst of dopamine, just like other brain stimulants. Dopamine is the brain’s neuro-transmitter that is in charged of messages effecting our reaction speed, mental alertness, spontaneity, watchfulness and energy capabilities. Moreover, dopamine is responsible for our stimulant addiction.

Large quantities of caffeine can quickly expend the levels of dopamine and diminish the production of dopamine creating brain cells. This results in feeling tried and out of energy. And, consume more caffeine in order to feel better. Dopamine levels fall repeatedly with this relentless cycle.

Dopamine declines with age, however caffeine and other stimulants accelerate the dopamine decline and speed up the process of the brain aging. Parkinson’s disease is defined as a severe lessoning of dopamine neurons. Due to caffeine’s stimulating effect on dopamine output, people with Parkinson’s disease can benefit. Previous to seeing any signs of this diseases, 70 to 80 percent of dopamine neurons have vanished.

Various other health difficulties are caused by caffeine. The tension hormone output by the adrenal glands is dangerously accelerated by caffeine. A single caffeinated drink is plenty to start the brain, pituitary gland, sending messages to the adrenal gland to let out the tension hormones adrenalin and cortisol directly into our bloodstream.

We feel a surge of blood as tension hormones are send out, typically while in an extreme situation. The burst of energy we get from caffeine is actually a tension hormone rush. Caffeine is a powerful stimulant along with being an irritant that asks the body’s defence system to respond by releasing our tension hormones. Later on, this defence response gets worn out.

As caffeine intake relentlessly sends its artificial adrenalin, the glands become spent and lose their capacity to release sufficient hormones. The caffeine consumer starts to increase larger amounts, adding additional tension on the glands, that can’t keep up with the demands of the addiction. These events will not go on without consequences.

The adrenal gland of heavy caffeine consumers becomes emptied, as the time goes on. Negative changes happen in the correct operation of the immune, endocrine, and nervous system as daily overproduction of tension hormones, which too much are poisonous, gradually altering the blood makeup.

Any or all of these situations may eventually happen; chronic fatigue, higher levels of blood sugar and insulin, weight gain, heightened blood pressure, irritation, tension, depression, sleeping disorder, common viral infections, ulcers, thinning of the skin, bone loss, thyroid problems, and other dangerous signs of severe health difficulties.

The Caffeine Of Black Tea

Black tea caffeine was first discovered in 1827. Called theine, the substance was known to have very similar effects as caffeine in coffee. Eventually, it was shown that theine of tea was actually identical to caffeine, and since then, the term has been dropped.

The relief from fatigue we find in drinking tea can be attributed to its caffeine content. Black tea caffeine is a stimulant that has been shown to increase speed in reaction time, increase alertness, and improve concentration.

The physical effects include stimulation of digestive juice, the kidneys, and the metabolism in ways that possibly help eliminate toxins. An increase of mental alertness, shortening of reaction time, and improving efficiency of muscle action is brought about by caffeine’s stimulation of the heart and respiratory system, bringing more oxygen to the body.

A recent study on coffee shows that caffeine helps improve brain power performance and can be quite healthy, helping reduce the risk of heart disease and countless other diseases. However, because the study is still very new, the findings remain largely uncorroborated by other studies. Dieticians still warn against the bad effects of caffeine when consumed in large quantities. Because of its stimulating effects, caffeine can lead to heart palpitations, shortness of breath, and insomnia.

Black Tea Caffeine v. Coffee

Black tea caffeine has a distinct advantage over caffeine found in coffee. That’s because black tea caffeine content is lesser compared to caffeine in coffee. A cup of coffee yields as much as 16 mg of caffeine while the same cup contains only about a half or a third of black tea caffeine. This reduces the danger of imbibing too much caffeine in your system since drinking even several cups of tea does not have quite the same potent effects as a cup of strong black coffee.

Yet, it should be noted that black tea caffeine can be quite confusing. One of its more confusing aspects is the fact that coffee actually contains less caffeine than tea when measured in its dry form. But when prepared in a cup, the caffeine content of coffee is significantly higher than the black tea caffeine content in a cup.

What Determines Black Tea Caffeine Levels?

The reason purportedly has something to do with how the tea was processed. But there actually several factors involved that may help determine black tea caffeine levels. These include the variety of tea leaf, where it is grown, particle size used, the particular tea leaf cut, and the method and length of brewing or steeping.

Also, studies show that black tea caffeine levels are determined by the leaf location on the tea plant. The lower the tea leaves are located, the more caffeine they contain. That’s because the leaves near the bottom of the tea plant are more mature and, therefore, have more of the phytochemicals and substances that naturally occur in the plant.

Black tea caffeine, especially, is higher compared to all other tea caffeines. This probably has something to do with the way black tea is processed. Black tea undergoes full oxidation, which accounts for its strong taste.
